It's the only jet fighter/bomber that has thrust reversers. The other one would by the Viggen..

and thrust reversers are only found in in larger airliners and some prop aircraft.

It's a shame that they'll be gone by 2010 (or later in Saudi service). However, unlike all those Super Hornet haters, I am willing to accept the Typhoon as its rightful successor, even if those chin intakes are ugly as heck.

I do think the Typhoon is certainly a good aircraft. Its small size hides the fact that it can actually engage an F-15 in a dogfight and win.
But still, it is a shame the Tornado ADV/F.3 will go the way of the Tomcat soon. Aircraft with swing wings are absolutely awesome, and I'd hate to see another one end up in a dreary place like Davis-Monthan's AMARG and other similar "boneyards".

Nice!

I am inclined to revive my F3 drawing project now - I have done plenty of GR1s, GR4, ECRs etc. but never finished the F3...
:icondevil-505:
I'm looking forward to it.
